West Kootenai Area Girl Guides host a Nite Trek every spring on the first weekend in May.  Groups of Girl Guides and Boy Scouts aged 9 and over, gather in one spot to enjoy an overnight adventure of fun and challenge.  Starting at dusk teams of 4 are sent out on the trek every 10 – 15 minutes to test their mental and physical endurance, cooperation and team spirit.  The top 3 teams from 2 age categories are awarded cool prizes at the closing ceremonies for the event.  Approximately 100 adults donate their time and energy each year to ensuring the event is different, exciting, and safe, year after year.
